I agree with the other answerers. Hollywood gave the people a kind of “moral support.” And I think that Hollywood offers entertainment, people at the time, so that people go there to forget the hardships with which they faced.

Boy, that’s an excellent question. Yes, really necessary, to avoid people to be entertained, to believe in the silver lining. But this means that the answer to your question? “I’m going to simplify over and say, supply and demand. Supply and demand is the reason, they prospered. The people were ready for safe and splurge on a night at the movies. Hollywood figured out how to give them what they wanted. Let us not forget that children are exploited in this process. It turned out, product time and time again, some good, some mediocre to pathetic.

America needed heroes of fantasy and hope more than ever, in daily life, a role that a more responsible Hollywood meets communicate fairly well on that day.
