My friend is a magician, so I have been to the castle several times. The castle is located on Highland and Franklin, near the hollywood bowl and hollywood and highland. The neighborhood itself is ok, this area of Highland which is the cross street is very busy with traffic. I would not recommend walking around the area at night, but in the day it should be fine. You are also quite near Universal Studios, which is just a few exits up the 101 in the Valley.
Magic Castle is cool. its also right around the corner from hollywood and highland
