Having watched the brilliant acting of the Dark Knight I can’t but help feel disappointed that many scriptwriters have lost the ability to engage a family audience. Too many superhero movies fall into a competition as to which hero can be the most brooding! What happened to witty dialogue, clever interaction and the element of surprise? It seems that special effects have taken over the role of good dialogue. Or have all the decent writers gone to work on Doctor Who?
