Randy Jackson – Michael’s younger brother, not the ring leader of the American Idol dawg pound – was hospitalized in Pasadena yesterday with chest pains.
Later, E! confirmed that the 48-year-old had a mild heart attack.
“Randy was admitted to the hospital yesterday,” the ailing Jackson’s assistant said. “He will be staying overnight. He suffered from a mild heart attack. “
“Thank you for your concern. He is doing as well as expected. “
As if this month wasn’t difficult enough for the family, with the anniversary of Michael’s death next week and Conrad Murray’s court proceedings underway.
The singer checked into Huntington Memorial Hospital around noon yesterday and remains there Wednesday, where he is awaiting additional test results.
The media wasted no time in swarming the hospital last night, and hospital spokeswoman Andrea Stalding released only the bare minimum statement:
“By law, I can only confirm patients that are in our hospital database,” she said, refusing to confirm whether or not Randy was being treated at the time.
The incident came one day after he appeared with siblings La Toya and Jermaine to watch a judge allow Dr. Conrad Murray to keep his medical license.
Also on hand for that court date? Parents Joe and Katherine Jackson – just days after Joe blamed Michael’s death on Katherine. It’s been a rough week.
Earlier this month, Randy tweeted his frustrations with the ongoing battle to protect his brother’s legacy and his own difficulty dealing with Michael’s death.
“How do I cope?” he wrote. “I have a strong Christian faith & find power in prayer . . . although this month is hard. ” It only gets harder too, sometimes.

Lindsay Lohan narrowly avoided jail again yesterday after another warrant was issued for her arrest, only to be promptly recalled after she posted bail.
This voided her previous bail, which she was free on. A little background:
Lohan probation when she failed to appear in court last month for a status hearing. Judge Marsha Revel revoked her probation and set bail at $100,000.
In return for bail, Lindsay was to appear for a hearing on the probation violation July 6. After her alcohol monitor went off Sunday, that bail is forfeited.
Instead of throwing Lindsay in jail pending the July hearing, Revel allowed her to post new bail – set at $200,000 – to remain free. She did so promptly.
Less than an hour after the warrant was issued, a bondsman delivered $20,000 bail – the standard 10 percent – to keep the actress out of the slammer.
Just when you thought Lindsay Lohan couldn’t be more of a mess.
The judge could have jailed her outright this time, but didn’t. If Lindsay violates the terms of her probation and the SCRAM program again, she won’t be as lucky.
Lohan’s warrant was issued after her SCRAM bracelet went off at an MTV Movie Awards party, in what a D. A. spokeswoman called “an alcohol-related violation. “
Maybe going bar hopping with the thing isn’t the best idea.
In a series of Tweets, Lohan, who lives in denial, predictably wrote: “I did not violate anything . . . at all . . . My scram wasn’t set off Its physically impossible . . . “
“I’ve been more than I’m compliance [sic] & feeling great. “
Not according to her lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, who tells TMZ the ankle bracelet “indicated the presence of a small amount of alcohol on Sunday night. “
Holley added, “Having just received the report, I am not in a position to speak to its accuracy or validity, however, Ms. Lohan maintains that she has been in complete compliance with all of the terms of her probation and her bail. “
So either SCRAM is inaccurate, or Lindsay’s lying. Who do you believe?

Apparently coming to her senses and realizing that Jon Gosselin is a douche and she already has a trust fund, Morgan Christie dumped the reality star.
After getting together late last year, Morgan reportedly packed it in this week. “It’s true,” an insider says, noting that Christie first initiated the split.
“He’s a mess and feels like a loser. “
Well, yeah.
Jon Gosselin met Christie, a law school student, while snowboarding in Utah. He parted ways with former girlfriend Hailey Glassman in late December.
His divorce from estranged, grating wife Kate Gosselin was also finalized around that time, but Jon wasn’t hesitant about moving on from either flame.
HE’S AVAILABLE, LADIES: Morgan Christie personally saw to it that Jon Gosselin went back on the market this week . . . don’t everyone call his cellphone at once.
He and Morgan Christie were inseparable during January’s Sundance Film Festival in Utah, where they shocked onlookers with tons of PDA and stuff.
“Anyone who saw them remarked how inappropriate it was,” recalled a source in Park City, where the two were even rumored to be moving together.
Fortunately (for Morgan) she thought better of that one.
As Jon’s former spouse rehearses for Dancing With the Stars in L. A. and at home in Wernersville, Penn. , he has been staying at a “massive mansion” owned by his girlfriend’s wealthy Connecticut family. Presumably he’s been evicted now.
Why not stay with his eight kids at home? “Kate won’t let Jon have extra custody,” a source explained. “She thinks they’re better off with a nanny. “
Eh, she’s probably right. Unless it’s Stephanie Santoro, the one Jon nailed last year. You just can’t trust that guy around mediocre girls or hired help.
