Identity of Gossip Girl Revealed; Plus, On-set Tensions Divide Cast?

December 23, 2009  |  gossip  |  No Comments

Gossip Girl has been a hit among audiences, who are mostly clueless about the real identity of Gossip Girl, the female narrator of the series voiced by Heroes star and Veronica Mars herself, Kristen Bell. Now, fans are let in on the real identity of our gossip reporter, as the New York Daily News has managed to get a scoop of the real thing.

The New York Daily News recently reported that, contrary to what everyone probably thinks, Gossip Girl isn’t really of the female gender. In fact, a source told the paper that the person behind the juicy gossip is none other than Eric van der Woodsen (Connor Pablo), Serena’s (Blake Lively) younger brother.

However, viewers are still in the dark on how this odd fact will be revealed by the show, with the WGA strike still ongoing. Meanwhile, we still have more gossip to tackle, as the source also claims that there’s some tension between two cast members of Gossip Girl. The source states that two cast members have been acting very cold towards each other, thus causing their co-stars to “choose sides.”

“Leighton Meester [who plays Blair on the show] and Blake Lively avoid each other like the plague while castmates choose sides,” the source said. “Chace Crawford [who plays Nate] tends to stick close to Leighton, while Penn Badgley [who plays Dan] hangs on and off-screen with Blake. The crew will snag Blake for a scene just moments before it is shot so they can avoid any awkwardness with Leighton.”

Of course, it’s easy to see why Badgley chose Lively over Meester. Previous reports say that the two have been dating, and sightings of the couple were also reported by the New York Daily News. They claimed that Badgley and Lively were seen kissing while shopping on Fifth Avenue .

Blake Lively, on the other hand, denied these reports, telling People magazine that it might just be blown out of proportion, and is simply not true.
