The Media Kept Mentioning Democratic Debate Was Littered With “hollywood Elite” Why Did They Fail To Mention

November 21, 2009  |  hollywood

the audiance in the Republican Debate was littered with big oil leverage buyout kings like T. Boon Pickens?
Is it another example of the US Media trying to enter the debate instead of report on one?

  1. for a ‘fair and balanced’ view perhaps they should have mentioned the presence of the “Robber Barons’ at the republican debates. Funny how all these ‘free market’ moguls seem to want a market that is ‘gamed’ for them. Enron did it and no one but Ken lay really paid a price., The health care system is gamed by the insurance companies (40 percent of your premium money is kept by them).
I love the folks who say universal healthcare will bankrupt the country….isn’t that what is happening now? Right now we are all paying for it. Most people simply do not see the bulk of the cost because their employer is picking up the bulk of the cost. SO if we move to universal coverage, the money is paid another funding vehicle.
Medicare uses less than 10% of it’s funding to process claims and manage the system….
Hmmmm ten percent versus forty percent? I might not be so good at math, but I know my numbers.

  2. Very good…
The media just loves to anger Republicans into a frenzy by using that term, don’t they?
I’ll admit that Oprah Winfrey is an accurate example of the “entertainment moguls” being over-involved.
But at the same time, Oprah is a little more thoughtful and intelligent than say, Chuck Norris, right?
And to “why don’t” (above) – There is no such thing as state by state “universal healthcare”…

  3. Do not, I repeat, do not trust the Business of News. It is owned by a few media giants.
I know, I worked in the business for a decade and went in with lofty dreams and left disillusioned because we have lost our reason for serving the people.
News is nothing more or less then a propaganda machine run by the elite and serving their self interests that throws information dog bones to the people, just to keep them complacent with a feeling of being informed.

  4. That the Hollywood elite were looking for work and free health care !

  5. Alan Colmes' Most Secret Adm

No I certainly didn’t hear that on CNN.

  6. Anything for ratings. They figure the viewing public gets some sort of charge out of seeing hollywood celebrities on the tube but wouldn’t recognize the business moguls. Typically superficial, meaningless coverage of important events.

  7. No one knows who T Boon Pickens is, but everyone knows the hollywood celebs and they just want to point out who the celebs are rooting for as if that makes a difference. I don’t care who anyone is rooting for. I have my own brain to use and decide. What makes people think celebs or anyone else has all the answers. Why do they care.

  8. Why Don't People Like Me?

Also not one question was asked to the canidates about the massive failure in the California legislature of their Universal Healcare Plan. Turns out the congressmen discovered it would bankrupt the state.
